Customize the login screen in Ubuntu 9.04 - Ubuntu Tipsntricks

Linux Ubuntu, the user can actually give freedom to his imagination to create the office of his dreams. Themes, icons, dock at the Mac OS X login screen. in short all be customized to the pleasure. Let us in this tutorial on customization of the logon screen, commonly called GNOME Display Manager (GDM).

Choice of theme

Start by opening the System menu, Administration and then click on the module window.

Go to this tab in the Local. This is where the various topics listed GDM. To activate, simply check the one you want and click the Close button.


Install a theme

To install a theme you have previously downloaded from the Web, simply click on the Add button. then select the archive. Remember to check the newly installed theme and then Close.
